Reviews Sing a Holiday

This summer I've had such a great week in Norway! Christine Sweet and her husband Torgar have created a beautifull place in Koppang, with a very warm and magical atmosphere. Christine makes everyone feel special and welcome and encourages us all to feel free and sing out loud from our heart. We all made huge progress with our vocal skills. And we had so much fun together! Not only while we were singing. We've made some beautifull trips and enjoyed the great nature side. We had long talks at night by the campfire, we laughed and cried, made new friends and we all grew as a singer, but also as a person.

Meera Hayes, age 23, student at University of Groningen.
Today it is about a month ago that I went to the Sing a Holiday in Norway, near the small town of Koppang. Despite the fact that I know the teaching methods of Christine Sweet quite well, I really didn’t know what to expect this time. Christine has been a coach and a mentor to me from the point where I met her eight years ago. However, this bootcamp was still surprising to me.
The amount of peace and quiet in the Norwegian Mountains is extraordinary. An instant calmness simply overflows you. You are awaited with a lovely, healthy breakfast between 09:30 and 10:00.
Christine challenged us to use everything we learned during the personal session in our singing. Now and then it was terrifying, because we feared getting too emotional and not being able to sing in pitch and in sync with the music anymore. In the end everybody did a great job. Some days we would take time to explore the beautiful nature in the neighbourhood, go to the shop nearby of study some more on our personal assignments.
This Sing a Holiday was a life time experience and I am very happy that I was part of it. Now, I feel more mature, more unique and less scared to find out what kind of place music should have in my life. It feels as if my inner voice finally started to sing and this is actually the only thing it ever wanted to do. I’ve been struggling with my career choice and actually myself from my early teenage years up till now. Both Christine and her singing bootcamp helped me to finally start making my own decisions in life. This spring I will audition for several music departments in the Netherlands. I hope to one day become a singing coach, music therapist or theatre musician.

The singing bootcamp was an experience to never forget! The lessons i’ve learnt will stay with me for whole my life and will help me with singing and my personal life. I’ve learnt to give it my all while performing and to sing more free.
I’ve grown close to the the people who where there because we all love singing and it’s such a personal thing to do.
The food was delicious and they where taking allergies and vegetarians into account. I’m lactose intolerant and there was plenty of food for me.
I had a nice holiday and enjoyed singing and Norway so much! There where a lot of campfires, singing, swimming and nature. I would definitely recommend this experience to everybody.
Emma Schippers Lots of love!❤️

I really liked being part of this Sing a Holiday from Christine in Norway; it was a great experience. While being in a lovely environment with great food and relaxing campfires, I learned a lot about myself as a singer, but also about myself as a person. While doing so, I was surrounded by a group of beautiful people.
The fact that we were all part of each other’s developments and learned a lot about each other in a short amount of time while doing something that we all love, made us feel connected quite quickly and that made this experience even more special.
Chris helped us, during a variety of (singing) activities, to develop ourselves towards our individual goals, while creating a safe environment and paying personal attention to the participants when necessary. Apart from a week full of music and singing, Norway itself offered a lot of opportunities for hiking, swimming, etc. which added to experiencing Norway to the fullest.
I’m really happy and grateful for the fact that I have been part of this experience with these amazing people and I would definitely join a next singing bootcamp again.
